Plagiarism Detection Policy

Plagiarism Detection Policy

PIDCC is committed to originality and ethics. As a member of the Brazilian Association of Scientific Editors (ABEC Brasil), the journal uses Similarity Check, the service provided by Crossref and operated through the iThenticate software.

Similarity Screening

All manuscripts undergo similarity screening during the initial desk review. This analysis is intended to identify plagiarism, self-plagiarism and redundant publication before the manuscript is sent out for peer review.

Assessment Criteria

The journal's editors carry out a qualitative assessment of the reports generated by iThenticate. No fixed similarity percentage is applied; instead, each identified passage is examined closely, ensuring that original knowledge is the foundation of the manuscript.

Misconduct: Where plagiarism is confirmed, the article is summarily rejected and the journal takes the appropriate measures in accordance with the COPE ethics guidelines.
