Copyright and Licensing
Ownership of copyright
Authors retain full copyright in the works published in this journal and grant PIDCC the right of first publication.
The journal requires no transfer of economic rights and no subsequent exclusivity. On submitting, authors declare that the work is unpublished, that authorship is correctly attributed, and that they hold the permissions required for any third-party content reproduced in it.
Licensing
The licence applying to each work is the one stated on the article's own page. The journal operates under two regimes, delimited by the date of publication.

Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0)
Permits sharing and adaptation for any purpose, including commercial use, provided credit is given to the authors and to the original publication.
Published up to 6 August 2026
Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0)
Permits sharing of the work in full, for non-commercial purposes, with attribution, and does not authorise derivative works.
Non-retroactivity
Works published before the effective date were licensed by their authors under CC BY-NC-ND 4.0. That licence is recorded in each publication and in the metadata already deposited with persistent identifier agencies. The journal does not retroactively alter the licence of published works, having no legal basis to do so without the express authorisation of the rights holders.
Relicensing on request
Authors wishing to relicense an already published work under CC BY 4.0 may request this through the editorial contact. Each request is assessed individually and requires the agreement of all co-authors. Where granted, the journal updates the publication record and the corresponding metadata.
Self-archiving
Authors are permitted to enter into separate, additional arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the published version — in institutional and subject repositories, on personal websites, in academic networks or as book chapters — with no embargo period, acknowledging the initial publication in this journal and citing its DOI.
Preprints and Open Science
The journal encourages deposit on preprint servers and in repositories, both before and during the submission process. Prior deposit does not count as previous publication for the purposes of originality and does not prejudice the assessment of the work.
Authors are asked to update the preprint record after publication with the final reference and the DOI assigned by the journal.
Third-party content
It is the author's responsibility to obtain permission to reproduce images, tables, extensive excerpts or any protected material owned by third parties, and to record that permission within the work itself. The licence adopted by the journal does not extend to third-party content whose rights have not been licensed on the same terms.
