Revista PIDCC is an open access journal. All published content is freely available, with no embargo period, no registration requirement for reading, and no submission, processing or publication charges (APCs).
The journal upholds the principle that making scientific knowledge publicly and freely available advances the democratisation of knowledge and broadens the global exchange of research.
Licensing
The licence applying to each work is the one stated on the article's own page. The journal currently operates under two licensing regimes, delimited by the date of publication.
Published from 7 August 2026 onwards
Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0)
Permits copying, redistribution, adaptation and commercial use, including text and data mining, provided that due credit is given to the authors and to the original publication.
Published up to 6 August 2026
Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0)
Permits copying and redistribution of the work in full, for non-commercial purposes, with attribution, and does not authorise derivative works.
Adopting CC BY 4.0 for new publications aligns the journal with Open Science recommendations and with the requirements of indexers such as DOAJ and SciELO.
Why earlier works do not change licence
Works published before the effective date were licensed by their authors under CC BY-NC-ND 4.0, and that licence is recorded in each publication and in the metadata already deposited. The journal does not retroactively alter the licence of works already published, having no legal basis to do so without the express authorisation of the rights holders.
Authors wishing to relicense an already published work under CC BY 4.0 may request this from the editorial office through the editorial contact; changes are made case by case, upon agreement of all co-authors.
Copyright
Copyright remains with the authors, who grant the journal the right of first publication. Further detail in the Copyright Notice.
Self-archiving
Authors are permitted to deposit the published version in institutional and subject repositories, on personal websites and in academic networks, with no embargo, provided the original publication in this journal is acknowledged together with its DOI.
