Ethics and Research Protocols

Research Ethics and Protocols

PIDCC follows the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the guidelines of the Council of Science Editors (CSE). Ethical rigour in research is a sine qua non for publication.

Research Involving Human Participants

Research involving the collection of data from human participants must explicitly state approval by a Research Ethics Committee (CEP/CONEP or equivalent). The approval number must be given in the Methodology section. Confidentiality, privacy and the free and informed consent of participants are guaranteed.

Data Integrity

The fabrication, falsification or intentional manipulation of data and images constitutes serious misconduct. The journal uses analytical tools to verify the authenticity of the evidence presented.

Use of Artificial Intelligence

The use of AI tools must be disclosed by the authors. AI cannot be credited as an author, and the human authors assume full ethical and technical responsibility for the content.

Editorial compliance: Where misconduct is suspected, the Editors follow the COPE investigation flowcharts, which may lead to a request for clarification, rejection of the manuscript, or the issuing of public retraction notices.
