Text presenting the fourth issue of PIDCC, published in 2013, when the journal completes one year of existence. The editors set out the profile of the periodical, open to Brazilian and foreign contributors, to the publication of monographs and of special and thematic issues, and to contributions from other fields, in particular philosophical reflection on technology and on the crisis of contemporary society, within the horizon of the phenomenological and hermeneutic schools. It then goes through the works gathered in the issue one by one, indicating the author, institutional affiliation and subject of each: legal principles of intellectual property in Rio Grande do Sul and Patagonia, the international and domestic patent systems and economic development, technology transfer contracts and the role of INPI, three-dimensional trademarks, copyright as a fundamental right, patent claims, the existential minimum, academic plagiarism, museums and creators' rights, open innovation offices, international environmental liability and environmental zoning, human dignity, and three philosophical studies on Heidegger, Merleau-Ponty, Husserl and Ricoeur.
