The paper aims to address Merleau-Ponty's philosophical-political itinerary in order to understand the contemporary social crisis. His meditation, in our view, offers guiding principles for a critical analysis of our time, in so far as the delicate relation between philosophy and politics becomes visible there. We try, in the light of Simone Goyard-Fabre's contribution, to examine the key themes of that itinerary, in the chronological order of their appearance. We consider the works: Humanism and Terror (1947); two texts from Sense and Non-Sense (1948): “Around Marxism” and “Marxism and Philosophy”; Adventures of the Dialectic (1955); Signs (1960).
